Our New House
We have officially been in our new house for 28 days! It has been a bit of a whirlwind but we are grateful for all of the tender mercies that have helped us get to this point. Wondering what happened…you can learn about our choosing change here.
Our new house is in Tillamook – yes….THAT Tillamook – the home of the CHEESE! Stewart got a job at the high school and we found a great home just 12 minutes away. The high school’s mascot are the “Cheesemakers”!
Leaving St. Croix
Leaving St. Croix was both bitter and sweet. We will forever miss our friends and new-found family there. We will also miss the beauty that is abundant. We will not miss the over-priced groceries or power. In fact, as homage to grocery prices here is a picture of Clementine Oranges during my first week on St. Croix and my first week in Oregon.
Packing the Container
We had a lot of help packing our container. On Halloween, we all dressed up as “strong people” and loaded a 20 foot container bound for Oregon. It was quite a feat to heft a piano up about 4 feet to load it onto the container. I was glad that Stewart was not there to witness the process.
84 Days Apart
After spending 84 days apart, we were finally reunited as a family. It was agonizing to sit on the plane and know that we were so close. I was emotional the whole way knowing that we would finally be together after such a long time. I don’t know how military families do it. Kuddos to you!
We have seen some absolutely beautiful and stunning sunsets and beaches in the short time we have been here. What a beautiful world we live in!
A New Endeavor
Our New House
We are loving the new home and have already jumped in to make it our own. We have redone a floor and busily working on making the living room and dining room how we would like.
The New Endeavor
Our new endeavor is a YouTube channel. In the past, we have been asked about how we did certain projects around our house so we’ll be mainly posting videos about our house projects. This is new territory for us and we are not so great at getting every detail…yet. Please subscribe and you will be notified when we post new videos.
Our first video(s) is about our new driveway and you can watch it here: Driveway – Before
The boys have also begun a series of videos about HO Scale Model Trains here: The Shelley Boys – Train Stuff
We are so happy to be here in Oregon and look forward to continuing our journey. If you would like to get updates on our many endeavors…be sure to subscribe to our blog or our YouTube channel (that sounds really weird…oh well). We really hope you will follow along.
As always we pray that you may be blessed this coming year to move forward, open new doors, continue to do new things, and stay curious!
What things are you doing right now to make your home, family, or community a better place?
