5 Steps to Live the Life You Want

As we are trying to make major changes in our life, we have learned some things. Here are 5 Steps (plus a BONUS 6th) to help you make and create the life you want!

Step 1

Get clear on what it is you DO want. Pray, meditate, journal…whatever you need to help seek clarity on what path you need to be on. Sometimes that starts with deciding what you DON’T want. Use this FREE printable.

Step 2

Decide what it is going to take to get what you want. What does it look like? What details can you imagine? Get SPECIFIC! What are the sights, sounds, tastes, and even smells!!!?

Step 3

Don’t limit yourself! So often we have limiting beliefs about what we can and can’t do in our lives. Most of these beliefs are ones we put on ourselves or have decided to believe from someone else. Instead, ask “creating questions” such as: “What else is possible?” “How can it get even better?” “How can I choose joy?” “How is this thing that I want, going to show up in my life?”

Step 4

When fear and doubt show up – and they will – BREATHE! Although I believe there is opposition in all things, I ALSO believe that we DO NOT have to give power to opposition. When you start getting scared or feel like you can’t make a change – get clear on where those thoughts are coming from. Is it a real thought or necessary worry? Is it just a creation of fear and doubt? Is it something that you ACTUALLY have control over? Something you can make a difference RIGHT now to affect? If you CAN do something – then DO IT! If not, RELEASE that thought and mark it RETURN TO SENDER!

Step 5

Repeat Steps 3 & 4 as often as necessary. We often get stuck in Step 4 allowing fear and doubt to keep us stuck. We don’t allow ourselves to be in a place of joy, abundance, and success. We are much more comfortable with stress, toil, and strife. We as humans have decided that we can handle struggle because it is familiar. Joy, abundance, and success often feels very foreign so we (consciously or subconsciously) sabotage our efforts because we need the comfort of the familiar. SOOOOO….repeat step 3 until you do not easily slip into Step 4. CHOOSE JOY!!!

BONUS Step 6

DO IT! RIGHT NOW! START RIGHT NOW! Don’t wait until it is the “right” time. Start small and simple. This is a principle that can work with any “want.” If you wait, you may end up waiting your life away.
